The stadthuys is the legacy of the Netherlands colonial period which was established by Dutch in 1650. It is now the Museum of Malacca which preserves the historical artefacts and relics of each history period of Malacca, including ancient weapons of the Netherlands, the Portuguese L6 century costumes, Malay wedding costumes, gold, silver, jewelleries and handicrafts, as well as all kinds of pictures of the ancient ships at the harbour Malacca. Today, the stadthuys is considered to be the eastern world’s oldest Dutch building.
