St. Paul’s Church is built by the Portuguese General Duarte Coelho, is the oldest church in Southeast Asia which was built by the Portuguese in 1521. There is a white statue in front of the church, he is the Portuguese missionary St Francis. In 1553, he died and was buried here. There is a legend saying that the fresh does not rot after his death, the Dutch did not believe and cut his right hand, and he was bleeding profusely. Dutch people regarded him as Saint and he was buried in Goa, India and his statue which without right arm is put in front of church. The Dutch descendants come to worship every weekend.
